Gregory Miles Benton, 56, of White, Ga., passed away on Nov. 10, 2013, in his home gaining victory over a long bout with cancer. He was born May 14, 1957, at Hillcrest Memorial Hospital in Waco, Texas, to Reva McIntosh Benton and Frank Miles Benton.
He was a 1975 graduate of Ohio County High School. He was employed by Peabody Coal Co., Blossman Gas and Georgia Gas Distributor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Miles Benton.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Benton of White, Ga., and Aunt Sue Gueth; his mother, Reva McIntosh Benton of Beaver Dam; three children, Bradford Miles Benton (Alicia) of Wilmington N.C., Chelsie Walsh (Patrick) of Hodgenville, Ky., Christopher Miles Benton of Beaver Dam, six grandchildren and three brothers, Timothy Benton (Mary-Ann) of Deltona, Fla., Mark Benton (Debra) of Park City, Ky., and Will Benton of Orlando, Fla.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Benton, Rev. Ernie Carmichael and Rev. Frank Benton officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home and 9 a.m. until the time of service at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.
