Charlie Louis Murphy, Sr., 65, of Horse Branch, passed away, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 30, 1948, in Horse Branch, Kentucky to the late Ethel and Cordelia Renfrow Murphy.
He was a retired machine operator for P&L Railroad and was of Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Cordelia Renfrow Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Lida Phelps Murphy of Horse Branch, two daughters, Cheryl Murphy of Horse Branch and Michelle (Daniel) Renfrow of Horse Branch, one son, Charlie Murphy II of Beaver Dam, six brothers, David Murphy of Horse Branch, Dale (Patty) Murphy of Horse Branch, Jeffrey (Vickie) Murphy of Horse Branch, Stephen (Ashley) Murphy of Horse Branch, Christopher (Shela) Murphy of Horse Branch and Richard Murphy of Beaver Dam, five sisters, Costella (H.T.) Heflin of Olaton, Angie Raley of Horse Branch, Betty Jo (Roger) Ferguson of Horse Branch, Flora Mae (Donald) Bratcher of Horse Branch and Donna Daugherty of Horse Branch and two grandchildren, Logan Renfrow and Liam Renfrow, both of Horse Branch.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dewayne Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Leach Cemetery in Horse Branch. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
