Reverend Chris Carter, 72, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at the Ohio County Hospital. He was born in Louisville on June 4, 1941. Chris was a Baptist minister and had pastored churches in Ohio and Muhlenberg counties.
He was a member of Centertown Baptist Church, was involved with and served as leader of the R.A.’s for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and Cowboy Fast Draw.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Walton Carter.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lou Carter; two sons, Mark Carter of Beaver Dam and Dewayne (Stacy) Carter of Bowling Green; four grandsons Lucas, Kyle, Ross and Seth Carter; one great-granddaughter Caitlin Carter; his mother, Imogene Carter of Hartford; one sister, Myrna West of Florida and one brother, Rick Carter of Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Bro. Rodney Albin officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Centertown Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
