Joyce Sue Stewart Brown, 75, of Beaver Dam passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 20, 1938, to the late Sam Stewart and Ruby Chapman Stewart in McHenry, Ky.
She retired from the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching UK Basketball and working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brown on Nov. 7, 2011, and one sister, Jean Duke in June 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Snodgrass (Charlie) of Beaver Dam and Sandy Wheeler (Jim) of Wentzville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jodie Snodgrass (Katie) of Lexington, Ky., Korey Snodgrass of Wentzville, Mo., Brittany Brown (Dustin) of St. Charles, Mo., Tyler Wheeler (Shannon) of St. Charles, Mo., and Olivia Wheeler of Wentzville, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Harper Kate Snodgrass of Lexington, Ky., and Landon Brown of St. Charles, Mo., and one sister, Alice Allen of McHenry.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Armstrong and Jim Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., and Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Ky.
