Christopher (Chris) Wayne Himes, 44, of Centertown left this world suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1968 in Owensboro, Ky.
Chris was employed by Disaster Team in Owensboro, Ky., attended Rockport Baptist Church, a former member of Hartford Fire Department and 1986 graduate of Ohio County High School where he was an avid trumpet player. He enjoyed four wheeling, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Orville and Dottie Himes and Norval D. Fielden and Ella Lee Fielden.
Survivors include his wife Angel Darlene Barnes Himes of Centertown; one daughter, Brittini Nikole Himes; one son, Jakob Christopher Himes; parents, Roger and Patricia Nadine Fielden Himes of Hartford; sister, Stacia Renai Himes Cole (Jason) of Hartford and father- and mother-in-law, Conard and Linda Barnes; sister- and brother-in-law, Michele and Jonathan Grant; nieces and nephews, Hunter, Trevor and Mason Grant and Grayson, Amelia and Emileigh Cole. He also had several aunts, uncles, cousins and was fondly known as “Lovey” by his Florida cousins Kathi Druckamiller, Kari Fielden and Kelly Robinson and Aunt Jackie Fielden.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Bro. Rodney Albin and Bro. Joe Van Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 p.m until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky.
