Evalene Martin, 81, of Livermore, Ky., died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at her home. Rosa Evalene Wells was born Jan. 18, 1932 in Breckenridge County, Ky., to the late Belford and Rosa Ellen Henton Wells and was married to Thomas Theodore Martin on Jan. 22, 1955.
Evalene was a retired nurses aid from Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun and a member of Woodwards Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, and spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Evalene was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tom Martin who died April 26, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Timmy Martin and wife, Marelene of Calhoun and Tommy Martin of Livermore; two daughters, Rose Ralph and husband, Joe of Centertown and Lynn Kitchens of Henderson; four grandchildren, Marty Ralph and wife, Kristen, Kim Iler and husband, Tim, Cliff Kitchens and wife, Brittany, and Spencer Martin; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcella Taul of Hardinsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Leon Eskridge officiating. Burial will be in the Woodwards Valley Cemetery in Ohio County. Friends may visit with Evalene’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at Musters in Livermore.
