Alton G. ‘Pony’ Fulton

AltonFultonAlton G. “Pony” Fulton, 75, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1937, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Chester and Esther Cox Fulton.

He was a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and White County Coal and he was of Baptist faith.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester “Red” Fulton, Jr., Cecil Fulton and Jerry Fulton and one sister, Mavis Ortman.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Betty Shephard Fulton of Beaver Dam; four sons, Keith (Joy) Fulton of Centertown, Chris (Stephanie) Fulton, Tony (Barbara) Fulton, and Tim (Kristi) Fulton all of Madison, Ind., and Greg (Patty) Willoughby of Morgantown; one brother, Charlie Clay Fulton of Bowling Green and three sisters, Flo Holt of Missouri, Mabel Borah of Louisville, Effie Honaker, Richardsville, and Jennie Burns of Indianapolis. Mr. Fulton was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Peter Leach officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery near Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
