Charles Erwin Maiden Sr., 72, of Horse Branch, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Horse Branch to the late Blimmer Maiden and Gertha Ferguson Craig.
He was a member of Horse Branch General Baptist Church and was a farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalene Geary Maiden; two brothers, James Michael Maiden and Walter Lee “Tadpole” Maiden and his step-mom, Della Maiden.
Survivors include four sons, Charles E. Maiden Jr. of Horse Branch, Carl M. (Sandy) Swift of Trenton, Illinois, Mark (Angelita) Swift of Horse Branch and Roger Swift of Horse Branch; two daughters, Sheila (Mickey) Baize of Beaver Dam and Candy (Terry) Wilson of Horse Branch; one brother, Hubert Embry of Hartford; four sisters, Phyllis Jean Renfrow of Central City, Jerrie Lee O’Bryan of Morton’s Gap, Donna (Randall) Frames of Horse Branch and Debby Ann (Walton) Renfrow of Horse Branch, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Ricky Dockery and Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Horse Branch. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
