Carlo Rice, 84, of Horse Branch, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Hyden, Ky., to the late Charlie and Alta Begley Rice.
He was a retired spray painter.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Carlo Aaron Rice and seven brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Bessie Collett Rice of Horse Branch; two sons, Tim (Sue) Rice of Horse Branch, Rob (Barbara) Rice of Beaver Dam; two step sons, David (Cheryl) Smith and Charles (Barbara) Smith both of Essie; two step daughters, Sue (Tim) Rice of Horse Branch and Alice Bowling of Hyden and two brothers, Miller Rice of Hyden and Kelly Rice of Wooton. Carlo was blessed with two grandchildren, Chad Matthew (Nicole) Rice and Ashley (Dameon) Daniels; three great-grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in the Rice Family Cemetery in Horse Branch. Visitation will be from 10a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
