Bobby Carroll Jones, 74, of Beaver Dam, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born March 21, 1939, in Prentiss, Ky., to the late Oscar Allen and Mildred Fay Shaw Jones.
He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for 44 years, the McHenry Masonic Lodge 800 F&AM and was retired from Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed Bluegrass and gospel music and was the first volunteer at Bill Monroe Home place since 2001, where he met people from all over the world. He was also a very dedicated volunteer at Uncle Pen’s Cabin where he made friends with everyone that visited.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Allen Jones and Ronnie Powell Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldean Jones of Beaver Dam; one son, Joe Keith and wife Maria of Lewisburg; two daughters, Myra Toler and husband Jerry of Leitchfield and Traci Morris and husband Waymon of Beaver Dam; two brothers, Charles Jones of Florida and William Jones and wife Kathy of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Kaye Holland of Beaver Dam, Judy Holland of Beaver Dam and Rita Findley of Central City, seven grandchildren, Les Morris of Livermore, Lindsay and Lauran Morris of Beaver Dam, Aaron Toler and wife Jessica of Leitchfield, Catherine, Bobby Joe and Amanda Keith of Lewisburg; one great-grandchild, Brooklynn Toler of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jesse Tichenor officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
