Wendell C. ‘Spooky’ Wilson

WendellWilsonWendell C. “Spooky” Wilson, 78, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Ohio County.

Wendell was employed at Peabody Coal Company where, at the time of his retirement, served as Mine Director of Eastern Surface Operations. He was of the Baptist Faith, served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a graduate of Western Kentucky University.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents Tommy and Eba McQuady Wilson.

He is survived by his wife Jean Paxton Wilson; son, Dr. Dwight C. (Martha) Wilson and grandson, Blake A. Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Wendell Foster’s Campus. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
