Vernon Calloway, 69, of Beaver Dam, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late James William and Goldie Elizabeth Watson Calloway.
He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Beaver Dam and worked as an automotive mechanic and farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Willoughby and Ruby Phelps.
Survivors include his companion, Debra Deese Calloway; one son, Rick (Angie) Calloway of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Linda (Tim) Smith of Horse Branch; seven brothers, Ricky Dale Calloway of Hartford, Charlie Calloway of Beaver Dam, Stevie Calloway of Owensboro, Jerry Calloway of Hartford, Matt Calloway of Beaver Dam, Larry Calloway of Hartford and Jimmy Calloway of Hartford; four sisters, Mildred Dunning of Hartford, Mary Blair of Hartford, Vickie Hohimer of Hartford and Georgetta James of Paducah, his ex-wife, Mary Calloway of Horse Branch, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Christopher Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
