Michael Lee Maze, 63, of Beaver Dam, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his residence. He was born June 11, 1950, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Jessie and Vera Moseley Maze.
He was a member of Hickory Cumberland Presbyterian near Cromwell and was an underground coal miner for 30 years for Peabody Coal Company.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Lowell Maze.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Deborah Maiden Maze of Beaver Dam; one son, Joshua Lee (Carah) Maze of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Melissa (Aaron) Creek of Beaver Dam and Jessica (Zach) Whittaker of Hartford; two brothers, Monty (Judy) Maze of Indiana and Mitchell (Linda) Maze of Beaver Dam, and one sister, Marilyn (Micky) Jackson of Texas. Michael was blessed with seven grandchildren, Kaleb Humphrey, Briley Howard, Tristan Maze, Corbin Maze, Kennedy Creek, Ava Whittaker, and Liam Creek.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Gary Hines and Rev. Chris Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Cromwell. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
