Maudie Pauline Deweese, 79, of Beaver Dam, passed away June 28, 2013, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., to the late John Patterson and Nellie Decker Lindsey.
She was a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Little Bend. She was a former employee of Kanes Manufacturing, Renfrow’s Grocery, Butler County school bus driver and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Glendall Lindsey, Lyndall Lindsey, James William Lindsey, Paul Lindsey and Thurman Lindsey and a daughter-in-law, Helen Faye Deweese.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Major Gasaway Deweese of Beaver Dam, twin daughters, Jeanetta (Larry) Brown of Beaver Dam, Yetta (Dennis) Meador of Bowling Green, twin sons, Shelby Deweese and Elbie (Glenda) Deweese both of Beaver Dam, four sisters, Audrey Lafon of North Carolina, Mary Kelly, Linda (Conard) Barnes, and Dorothy Wilkerson all of Rockport, Ky. Four grandchildren, Major (Becky) Deweese, Chris (Beck) Brown, Matthew (Tiffany) Deweese and Randy Brown and five great-grandchildren, Angelia, Jonah, Sarai, Levi and Abby Deweese also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery in Butler CO. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
