Thelma Ann Stewart, 95, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late George William Stewart and Flossie Dawson Stewart.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Beda Homemakers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton M. Stewart, on March 28, 2008.
Survivors include one son, Kendall Stewart and his wife, Mary Helen of Utica, Ky.; one daughter, Sharon Leisure and her husband, Carl, of Hartford, Ky.; five grandchildren, Cardell Leisure of Hartford, Vickie Simpson of Utica, Kim Boyd of Utica, Holly Smithey of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Madge Southerland of Louisville; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Bro. Chris Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
