VanMontgomeryVan Montgomery passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Ohio County Hospital.  He was born in Centertown on Oct. 5, 1924, to the late Nathan and Julia Stroube Montgomery. 

Van was a farmer and musician. He was one of the original Montgomery Brothers Musicians.  Van served in the 88th Infantry Division during the European Theater in World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Y. “Jim” Montgomery (9-18-2007) and Charles Norwood Montgomery (4-19-2004).

He is survived by his sister Marjorie Condit of Centertown.

Funeral services will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Taylor and Rev. William A. Holladay officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Creek Cemetery near Centertown.

Friends may visit with the family Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
