Zonia Baize Carman, 72, of Owensboro, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehab. She was born on Sept. 9, 1940, to the late Opal and Mabel Kelly Baize in Horse Branch, Ky.
Zonia worked at ERB Equipment and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, her dog Missy, traveling and watching UK Basketball.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy, Jimmy and Dennis Baize.
Survivors include her son, Terry W. (Jennifer) Carman; her companion of 29 years, James “Sonny” Ralph; grandsons, Matthew (Jessica) Carman and Luke Parks; granddaughter, Sarah Carman; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn; two brothers, Wendell and Roy Baize; four sisters, Emily McDaniel, Ruby Vincent, Patsy Calloway and Marcella Nesmith and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her neighbors and special friends Dick and Penny Christ for always being there for Zonia.
Funeral services will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, with Bro. Bobby Renfrow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
