Elsie Dixon Stewart, 80, of Beaver Dam, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Vanderbilt Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born December 9, 1932 in Cumberland, Ky. to the late Noble and Elizabeth Dixon.
She was retired from Cowdens and Dames and worked at Professional Care Nursing Home and Beaver Dam Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she loved to cook for everyone.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Janice Stewart, five brothers, Silas Dixon, Joe Dixon, Noble Dixon Jr., Bobby Dixon and David Dixon and two sisters, Linda Enix and Ester McKnight.
Survivors include six children, Charles (Lynna) Stewart of Henderson, Dennis Stewart of Leitchfield, Darrell (Kay) Stewart of Mannington, WVa., David Stewart of Beaver Dam, Liz Stewart of Beaver Dam, and Becky (Paul) Maxwell of Hawesville ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Sara Sturgill of Ill., Mattie (Steve) Hensley of Ohio and Brenda (Joe) Day of Georgetown.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
