Phillip Gene “River Rat” Whitaker, 62, of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 1, 1950, in Ohio County to the late J.C. and Alma Dunning Whitaker.
He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hartford and worked as a Mechanic for Ohio County Recycling.
Survivors include his wife, RoseAnn Wilber Whitaker; one son, Phillip Wayne Whitaker; one daughter, Misty Ferry; one step-daughter, RoseAnna Fulkerson; three brothers, Oather “Opie” Whitaker, Raymond Whitaker and Charlie Whitaker; four sisters, Margaret Johnson, Darlene Neighbors, Susie Jones and Vickey Howard and four grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Clyde Shafer officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Church Cemetery in Hartford. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
