Albert Lee Burden, 62, of Hartford, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. He was born in Ohio County on May 27, 1950, to Ruby Goodman Burden and the late Thurman Burden.
He was previously employed as a truck driver for Central Paving Company in Paducah and Metro Special Police Security Guard. He was also a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Edmonson Burden, on Jan. 27, 2009; a daughter, Michelle Denise Burden, on Oct. 25, 1975, and two brothers, Danny W. Burden, on Oct. 11, 1988, and Samuel R. Burden on April 19, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Markus Lee Burden (Lori) of Paducah, Ky., and Elbert “Bryan” Burden (Juanita) of Paducah; five daughters, Abigail Lawson of Mich., Tammy Mart (James) of Centertown, Danette Frame (Raymond) of Cadiz, Ky., April Egner of Paducah and Rebecca Burden of Hartford; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Ruby Goodman Burden; three brothers, Ricky Burden (Nancy) of Beaver Dam, Ronnie Burden (Donna) of Hartford and Clifton Burden (Kathy) of Fordsville; five sisters, Betty Burden of Beaver Dam, Linda Embry (Lawrence) of Centertown, Kathy Maddox (Roger) of Beaver Dam, Mary Hunt of Beaver Dam and Tresa Phillips of Hartford.
The funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Bro. Troy Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Snodgrass Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and again Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
