OpalGrahamWallaceOpal R. “Mamaw” Graham Wallace, 82, formerly of Whiting, Ind., passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at Professional Health and Rehab in Hartford, Ky. She had been a resident there for over six and a half years.

Opal was a wonderful wife, mother and mamaw.  She enjoyed life to the fullest, always with a positive attitude.  Her favorite saying was, “You might as well laugh as to cry.” She will be fondly remembered as she dances her way to heaven, listening to her favorite song Wooly Bully.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William H. Wallace; infant daughter, Nancy C. Wallace; parents Conrad and Mattie Graham; her in-laws Clyde and Nannie Wallace and sister, Dimple (Roy) Frances.

Opal is survived by two sons, William C. Wallace of Owensboro, Ky., and Rickey (Jean) Wallace of Casper, Wyo.; daughter, Beverly (James) Poracky of Hammond, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Mark (Laura) Wallace, Sean (Fawn) Wallace, Codie (Ryan) Wallace, Kasey, Layne and Logan Poracky; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Brady, Eralys and Eva; former special daughter-in-law, Lynn Wallace; brothers Connie (Sue) Graham, Jimmy (Linda) Graham, Montie (Cheryl) Graham, Cary (Rhonda) Graham and many nieces and nephews, special friends and neighbors Don and Brenda Norman and Kenny and Priscilla Smith.

Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Professional Health and Rehab for the years of care and kindness they gave to our mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan.12, at 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.  Burial will follow in Central Grove Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Central Grove Baptist Church or Alzheimers Foundation Research.
