JuliaMaganJulia Park Magan, 71 of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Olaton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012. She spent her last hours in peace and surrounded by her husband of 47 years, Phillip R. Magan and her daughters, Lea Magan Fletcher and Lindy Magan Freeman. Julia was born July 28, 1941 in Centertown.

She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College and then taught elementary and middle school. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and growing a vegetable garden on the farm in Olaton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Everett Park and her son, Phillip Gregory Magan.

In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by her sister, Shirley Park Hall and her four grandchildren.

She was known for having a cheerful personality and will be remembered for her kindness, friendship and love for her family. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Axton Cemetery in Olaton. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
