C.J. Ford, 91, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at his home. He was born in the Horse Branch Community son of the late Claude and Artie Mae Grant Ford.
C.J. was a member of the Olaton Baptist Church and the Friedland Lodge #863 in Horse Branch and also was Past Master of the Lodge. C.J. also was former District Deputy Grand Master.
C.J. was preceded in death by his wife Lurlene and great grandson Matt Alvey.
Survivors include one daughter Mona (Leonard) Cook of Horse Branch; three sons Merle (Brenda) Ford and Jackie Lewis (Cindy) Ford both of Grayson County and Kevin (Brenda) Ford of Horse Branch; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, three brothers James Lewis Ford of Horse Branch, Harry Grant Ford of Floyd Knobs, Ind., and Gerald Truman “Pill” Ford of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Bobby Renfrow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam where the Ohio County Honor Guard will perform last rites.
Friends may visit with the family Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held Saturday at graveside.
