HazelGarnerHazel Mildred “Granny” Garner, 87, of Central City, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born July 30, 1925, in Ohio County to the late Mal J. and Goldie Marie Revlett Willoughby.

She was of Baptist Faith and a homemaker. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Garner who passed away on Oct. 3, 1989. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Ray Garner and Billy Gene Garner.

Survivors include three sons, Aaron “Monk” Garner and Kevin Lee “Tiny” Garner both of Central City and Steven “Cotton” Garner of Cleaton; six daughters, Barbara Whitehouse, Connie Watkins-Smith and Karen Hobgood, all of Central City, Mickie Garner of Cleaton, Phyllis Camplin of Beechmont, and Kim Ward of Belton; one brother, Archie Willoughby of Florida and one sister, Wilma Webb of Madisonville. She was blessed with 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Bobby Allen officiating. Burial will be in Slaty Creek Cemetery near Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
