Our sweet mother, Ruby Faye Long Autry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 surrounded by all seven of her children. She was born on May 24, 1938 to the late Alva and Nannie (Wright) Long.
She married the love of her life, Henry Carson Autry, Jr., on Sept. 21, 1954. They were married for 36 years until his death in April 1990. She spent the majority of her life caring for others, 7 children, her husband, an elderly mother, precious grandchildren and her beloved dogs Midnite and Blackie. She had a great passion for baseball and UK basketball.
She is survived by her children Diane Louise Buck of Owensboro; Stephen De-Wayne (Natalie) Autry of Birmingham, Ala.; Rhonda Faye (Jeff) Morris of Horse Branch; Rebecca Joan Autry (Mike) Sorrels of Evanston, Ind.; Lesa Carolyn (Steve) Taylor of Centertown; Troy Carson Autry of Owensboro and Robert Brian Autry of Birmingham, Ala. Her grandchildren are Brandon Shawn Autry, Nathanial Kyle Buck, Lauren Dawn (Jason) Seuss, Benjamin Ross Autry, Matthew Granville Morris, Rachel Mechelle (Braidy) Vance, Bryan Carson (Kailen) Taylor, Audrey Leigh Taylor and Alyssa Breanne Taylor.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Wednesday. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
