Betty Jean Wilson, 82, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born in Ohio County on July 9, 1930 to the late Noble Parritt and Hazel Oglesby Parritt.
Mrs. Wilson spent her life being a homemaker for her loving family. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Hartford where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a former member and Sunday school teacher at the Hartford Baptist Church and a former member of the No Creek Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Wilson; one granddaughter, Jennifer Sue Bratcher; one brother, Bill Parritt, and two sisters, Juanita Harris and Ruth Cooper.
Survivors include one son, Danny Wilson (Leva) of Hartford; one daughter, Sue Bratcher (Wendell) of Hartford; five grandchildren; Charity Wilkerson (James), Wendy Reddish (Rich), Natalie Grogan (Anthony) Michael Wilson, and Danielle Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, with the Bro. Pete Leach officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
