Jonathan Thomas Oakley, 4, went to be with Jesus Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. Jonathan was born in Greenville, Ky. on Feb. 6, 2008. Jon was a student at Beaver Dam Pre-School and attended Bible Baptist Church.
Jon loved to play with his sister and brothers and also enjoyed sleepovers with his cousins. He always told his family his superpower was he was a super friend and he loved to help others. He loved the color orange and running super fast and always wanted to fly. Our precious baby is flying safe in the arms of God.
Survivors include his mother, Samantha Jo Oakley of Hartford, father, Chadwick LeRyan Oakley; brothers, Braxton A. Oakley, Joseph C. Oakley, Leeland A. Filback and sister Abigail F. Oakley all of Hartford; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Vicki Shields of Beaver Dam; John and Becky Keown of Owensboro; maternal great-grandparents, Margaret Johnson of Owensboro, Opal Shields and Wendell Embry of Butler County; cousins, Trae, Kaelyn, Carter, Luke and Adyn; aunts and uncles, Tabatha and Chad Long of Princeton, Ind., Whitney Keown Of Temple, Ga., Phillip Wheeler of Magnolia, N.C., Dustin McGuffin and Robert Keown both of Owensboro and several great-aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Jonathan Thomas Oakley Memorial Fund c/o Commonwealth Community Bank 830 South Main Street , Hartford, Ky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
