William G. ‘Bill’ Ruby

William G. “Bill” Ruby, Jr., 89 of Rosine, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home in Franklin, Ind. He was born June 17, 1923, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late William G. Ruby Sr. and Mary Louise Hoskins Ruby.

He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and worked as a Pipe Fitter and Machinist for Tube Turns Factory.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William Ruby III, his first wife and mother of his children, Golda Johnson Ruby, his second wife, Delores Jean Logsdon Ruby and three sisters, Ann Ruby, Mary Helen Lowe and Harriett Quinn.

Survivors include two sons, Joe (Teresa) Ruby of Evansville, Ind., and Walter Ruby of Beaver Dam; three daughters, Ruth Ann (Dale) Rearden of Rosine, Esther (Larry) Hardin of Evansville and Lula Bell Beatty Ruby of Louisville; 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Father John Renee Kolumbo officiating. A private burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Military service by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard will take place during the funeral hour at William L. Danks Funeral Home.
