Ruby Nell Burgess, 88 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully with those who loved her by her side on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Ohio County to the late Lonnie A. and Nellie Wallace Burgess.
She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church since she was 11 years-old where she taught children’s Sunday school for 40 years and was retired from General Electric.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie A. and Nellie Wallace Burgess and two brothers, Willie Burgess and J.L. Burgess.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Ronnie) Law of Beaver Dam and Susie (Eugene) Howard of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Kim Craft, Shelly Simmons, Brian Law and Jennifer Bradley and nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heath, Kathryn, Anna, Tai, Jake, Caroline, Marcus and Caleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong and Rev. Joel Wayne officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
