Genrose “Jean” Curtis, 96, of Griffith, Ind., passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, with her family at her side. Jean was born on Sept. 24, 1915 in Ohio County to the late Bert and Verda Combs.
Jean was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Highland, Ind., and Eastern Star Lodge 583 Griffith Chapter. She was an excellent homemaker, helping with Little League, band, Scouts and school events. She also was a diehard Cubs fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Curtis and sister Ruth Eskridge.
She is survived by son William (Patricia) Curtis and daughter Linda McBee.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, Ind. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Hartford, Ky on Wednesday Sept. 12, 2012 where graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.
Local arrangements will be handled by Bevil Bros. Funeral Home.
