Mary Louise Givens Scott, 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at Professional Care Health & Rehab in Hartford. She was born Oct. 24, 1929 in Arkansas to the late Carl C. and Beulah Givens.
She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Beaver Dam and retired custodian for Ohio County Middle School.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Scott, who passed away on Aug. 18, 2006. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Givens, Tony Givens, and David Cecil Givens and one sister, Lucille Hurshell.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy L. Scott of Owensboro, Wendell L. Scott of Beaver Dam, and Elwood Scott of McHenry, two daughters, Rita Nell Jones & Beulah Fulkerson both of Echols, two brothers, Cecil Givens of Horse Branch & Johnny Givens of Evansville and five sisters, Margie Willoughby of Horse Branch, Marilyn Hawthorne of Greensburg, Ky., JoAnn Brown of Ohio, Francis Coble and Bessie Singleton both of Centertown. She was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Echols Cemetery in Echols. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
