Helen Iler King, 89, of Charleston, Ind., formerly of Mt. Pleasant Community of Ohio Co., Ky. passed away, Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at her residence. She was born March 25, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant Community to the late J.R. & Bessie Sandefur Iler. She was a member of Willey’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Indiana and she was a retired nurse aide at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol C. King, who passed away, Feb. 28, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denita Howell.
Survivors include two sons, Gary K. King of Mt. Pleasant Community of Ohio Co., and Richard C. King of Beaver Dam; one son-n-law, Jerry Howell of New Albany, Ind. and one sister, Deloise Shaw of Floyd Knobs, Ind. Mrs. King was blessed with seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Richard Burgraff officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant Community of Ohio Co. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
