Bobby E. Martin, 78, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born March 12, 1934, in McHenry, Ky., to the late Gilbert and Georgia Hillard Martin.

He was retired from the Louisville Police Department after 20 years, was a former Ohio County Sheriff and Hartford Police Officer. Bobby was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Daugherty Martin.
 
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Kelly E. Pierce Martin of Hartford; one son, Robert (Tina) Martin of Seattle, Wa.; six daughters, Bobbietta Martin of Louisville, Bonnetta Daugherty of Dundee, Sandra (Debbie) Martin of Owensboro, Haleigh Martin of Hartford, Sarah Martin of Hartford and Emilee Martin of Hartford; two brothers, Earl Martin of Owensboro and Eddie Martin of Elkton; one sister, Linda Beasley of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Travis (Holly) Whalin, Lonni Daugherty, Elizabeth Martin, Sara Martin, Nathan Feldkamp and Aaron Pryor and two great-grandchildren, Jack Martin and Jayden Daugherty.
 
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Military Rights service will be provided by Wesley C. Phelps Memorial Honor Guard.
