Clay Moore Stewart, 100, of Beaver Dam passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Professional Care Health and Rehab in Hartford. He was born Oct. 5, 1911, in Ohio County to the late Herman Clay and Laura Lee Cooper Stewart.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Local 181 B, member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and a member of Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge #420 F & A.M.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Willard (Bishop) Stewart on November 21, 2000, four brothers, Herman Stewart, Sam Stewart, Owen Stewart, and George Stewart and one sister, Bernice Adams.
Survivors include four sons, Phillip Stewart, Paul Stewart both of Griffith, Ind., Wendell Stewart of Jacksonville, Fla., Colonel (R) Larry Stewart of Florissant, Mo.; one daughter, Charlotte Beck of McKenzie, Tenn.; one brother, David Stewart of Beaver Dam and one sister, Imogene Haven of Carterville, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Jessie Tichenor officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic rites service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
