Paul R. McDaniel, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at his residence in Beaver Dam. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren of whom he was very proud. He was born May 28, 1937, in McHenry to the late Arthur and Marie Craig McDaniel.
Paul was a US Marine Corp veteran. He was a retired coal miner for Peabody Ken Surface Mines and he was of Baptist faith.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley B. McDaniel of Beaver Dam; two sons, Tim (Debbie) McDaniel of Utica, Terry (Holli) McDaniel of Bowling Green; one daughter, Patty (Jeff) Hawkins of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Katherine Hohimer of Rosine, Mandy Pilkington of Louisville, and Betty Culver of Bardstown. Paul was blessed with six grandchildren, Brad McDaniel of Utica, Talia (Mark) McDaniel Pace of Owensboro, Kirsten McDaniel Maddox of Atlanta, Ga., Jeremiah Hawkins of Beaver Dam, Dawson McDaniel of Bowling Green, and Noah Hawkins of Beaver Dam and 4 great grandchildren, Karlei Johnson, Tayler and Tyler McDaniel, and Isabella Maddox.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
