Mary Elizabeth Mills, 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Ohio County, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Indianapolis. She was born in Beaver Dam on Jan. 14, 1921, to the late Robert Ashford and Mary Alsip Ashford.
She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband James E. Mills; three sons, Willis Mills, Glenn Mills, and Joseph Mills; three brothers, Samuel Ashford, Jessie Ashford and Roy Ashford; and three sisters, Katherine Basham, Goldie Pierce, and Ruby Collins.
Surviving include two sons, James H. Mills and Donald Mills and his wife Linda; five daughters, Mary Sue Whitaker, Charlotte Luttman and her husband Doug, Katherine Engleking and her husband Ed, Sharon Rader and her husband Tony, and Shelia Hurst and her husband Kim; and greater than 50 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 15 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford with Bro. Ed Mitchell officiating.
