Leni Christeen Stewart, 90, of Rosine, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born June 27, 1921, in Ohio County to the late David Scott and Lucinda Stewart Hayse. She was a homemaker and a member of Rosine Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Stewart; one son, William Stewart; two daughters, Jonell Stewart Probus and Betty Sue Stewart and her parents David Scott and Lucinda Stewart Hayse.
Survivors include six sons, Henry Stewart of Rosine, Michael Wayne Stewart of Horse Branch, Rossie Stewart of Fordsville, Gene Stewart of Rosine, David Stewart of Rosine and Jessie Stewart of Cromwell; four daughters, Terry Ann Johnson of Fordsville, Phyliss May Ashford of Louisville, Jewell Lene Simpson of Louisville and Judele Stone of Centertown; three half-sisters, Reba Duran of Tucson, Ariz., Agnes Phelps of Rosine and Anita Newman of Barling, Alaska; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Rosine. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
