Eddie Ray Scott, 64, of Beaver Dam died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Professional Care Health and Rehab Center in Hartford. He was born in Echols to the late Ray and Christine Scott.
He was retired from the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf, he was retired from Peabody Coal where he was an underground miner and member of UMWA and he was a member of New Assembly Church in Hartford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Smith Bryant.
He is survived by the love of his life-his wife Penny Scott; two daughters, Vicki (Robert) Johnson and Renee (Sean) Sigmon; one son, Bub (Brandi) Smith; one sister, Freda (Leroy) White; one nephew, Tony White; seven grandchildren, Britney (Eric) Elmore, Heather (Anthony) Geary, Bowen Smith, Eli Sigmon, Nick Johnson, Brylee Smith and Colby Bryant and three great-grandchildren, Ava Elmore, Chase Geary and Parker Geary.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Lealin Geary and Rev. Barry Geary officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be presented by Ohio County Honor Guard.
