BEAVER DAM, Ky. — The Beaver Dam Fire Department will host Beaver Dam Safety Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at the Beaver Dam Family Park. The BDFD hopes to prepare Ohio County’s children for emergencies and provide a day of fun as well. The Beaver Dam Park is at 217 S. Main St. in Beaver Dam.

Beaver Dam Safety Day is free for the entire family, plus children under the age of 15 will get a free snow-cone. Snow-cones will also be available for purchase.

Beaver Dam Safety Day will have safety booths set up by PHI Air Medical, the Ohio County Humane Society, Ohio County EMS, the Kentucky State Police, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, the Beaver Dam Police Department, fire trucks from the BDFD, Warren RECC, Kenergy, KU, ATMOS, the Red Cross, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and Kentucky Division of Forestry.

BDFD Chief David Stevens spoke about the event at the September Beaver Dam City Commission meeting. Stevens was excited about invited families to the Beaver Dam Park to enjoy a fun day out and learn safety tips to help in emergencies.

“We’ll have safety booths set up for the children. It’ll be a good little community day to come down, walk around, get some snow cones and learn about a few things they may encounter,” Stevens said.
