HENDERSON, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 16 is warning residents that it’s seen an increase in reported scams recently involving requests for personal information and money.
According to KSP Post 16, some of these scams have victims deposit money into bitcoin machines or send money through a bitcoin app. Other scams purport to be law enforcement officials or government officials requesting personal information. These scams involve unsolicited texts or phone calls to victims’ phones requesting money and/or personal information.
KSP Post 16 wanted to inform the public of these recent scams and encourage the public to contact authorities should they become a victim of these types of scams. Law enforcement officials will never request you to send money by any method during a legitimate investigation.
