Meet the Candidates: Larry Morphew, incumbent Republican candidate for 5th District Magistrate

In Opinion by OC Monitor Staff

I’m Larry Morphew. I’m seeking re-election for 5th District Magistrate.

I was born and raised in the Cromwell community. I lived in Beaver Dam for a short while. During that time, I was elected city commissioner and served 12 years.

I moved back to the 5th District some 15 years ago, one mile from Rosine.

As soon as a magistrate’s race opened up, I ran, won, and have been serving the 5th District communities wholeheartedly.

With all that being said, I’ve learned a few things along the way, which make me the most qualified candidate running for the 5th District Magistrate.

For your information, the 5th District has three fire departments, three community-owned parks, and the most miles of roads.

However, the 5th District receives the same amount of money as the other four districts.

Here are just a few of my priorities:

  • Roads
  • Advocating for fire departments
  • funding for senior services
  • funding for parks and safety
  • against countywide planning and zoning
  • responsible spending
  • honesty equals transparency
  • creating jobs with fair wages.

Keep what works, vote to re-elect Larry Morphew, number three on the ballot.
