Robert retired as a truck driver, a profession that took him on countless journeys across the nation, but it was the roads of family and faith that truly defined his life. A faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Hartford, he lived his life with kindness, generosity, and a deep love for his community.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Raymond Wilson. Together, they nurtured a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising three wonderful daughters: Natalie Scott and her husband, Will, Jessica Shepherd and her husband, Dwayne, and Samantha Raley. Robert’s legacy continues through his two brothers, William Wilson and his wife, Lecia, Tony Wilson, and his three sisters, GiGi Hinnegan and her husband, Mike, Terry Jo Wilson, and Lisa Wilson. He is also survived by seven adoring grandchildren: Jonathan Scott, Sawyer Raley, Bryson Shepherd, Bentlee Raley, Layla-Rose Raley, L.B. Day, and Jack-Elliott Shepherd, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Robert’s life on Monday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hartford Funeral Home. The funeral service, following the visitation, will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, where John Robert Wilson will deliver a heartfelt eulogy reflecting on Robert’s life and the love he shared with everyone around him. Burial will take place at the Oakwood Cemetery, where he will rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
In these moments of sorrow, let us remember Robert not only for the roles he played in our lives but for the love and laughter that remembered him so dearly. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us.
