RICHLAND, Ind. — Jason Micky T. Peech, of Richland, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, after an 18-year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. He transitioned from this life peacefully at home in the loving arms of his wife, surrounded by his family, Great Danes, and friends. Jason was born Feb. 26, 1975, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Ricky and Deborah Thompson Peech.

Jason attended college and then joined the United States Army. He then worked in flooring installation until his health issues caused him to early retirement. For the past decade, Jason and his wife own and ran a pet health food store in Reo, Indiana, called The Whole Shebang, LLC.

Jason loved their menagerie of animals, long walks with the Danes at State Parks, and camping. He had a happy, fun-loving personality with a tendency to occasionally make cameo entertainment appearances spurts where he sang and danced for the public. His favorite hobbies were turkey and deer hunting. Jason also loved cruising the Caribbean.

Surviving Jason is his wife of 10 years, Charity Nicole Peech; children, Ethan and Aria Peech, at home; parents, Ricky and Deborah Peech, of Hartford, Kentucky; one sibling, Jennifer (Josh) McFadden; nephews, Hunter Shown and Oakley McFadden; niece, Kealeigh Shown, all of Owensboro, Kentucky; mother-in-law, Jackie Fulkerson, of Rockport, Indiana; and father-in-law, Norbie Fulkerson, of Reo, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shebang’s Great Dane Rescue or Stir-Up-Hope therapeutic riding program.

Jason’s family would like to give a special thank yous to Margaret Whitehouse, APRN, and the VA for their care of Jason all these years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Alan Shouse officiating. Friends may visit with Jason’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard.
