HARTFORD, Ky. — Kathern Sue Cardwell, 71, of Hartford, formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her residence. Sue was born March 12, 1949, in Morgantown, to the union of the late Otis and Geneva Cardwell Cox and wife of the late Dalton Cardwell.

She was a member of East Fairview General Baptist Church, a past member of the Butler County Rescue Squad where she served for many years, and a retired babysitter. Sue enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Fields and Francis Henderson, and two brothers-in-law, Donald Fields and Winzel Henderson.

Kathern Sue Cardwell is survived by one daughter, Robin Johnson and husband, Jamie, of Cromwell, Kentucky; one son, Jeff Cardwell and wife, Belinda, of Oakland, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Kaylyn McKinney and husband, Nathan, and Kassidy Cardwell, both of Morgantown; two great-grandchildren, Hadlee Nell McKinney and Hunter Lane McKinney, both of Morgantown; one brother, Otis Wayne Cox, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Carl Decker Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in the W&F Henderson Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
