HARTFORD, Ky. — Oho County Healthcare has recently commented on the new lab confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ohio County. The new COVID-19 cases were reported by the Green River District Health Department earlier today. There are a total of five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ohio County at this time.

According to OCH, COVID-19 presents a serious challenge to the health of all Ohio County residents. OCH anticipates many more positive cases. Though most cases will be mild to moderate, some will be more serious and require immediate medical attention. OCH reports it has surge plans in place and is ready to provide services for those requiring care.

OCH recommends seeking medical care if needed. Call the OCH COVID-19 hotline at 270-256-5535 to ask questions or be directed where to receive care.

Those experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19 can visit the COVID-19 Screening Center open seven days per week at 1132 Clay St. in Hartford, at the corner of Clay St. and McMurtry St. All provider offices are operating on normal business hours and can see patients in the office or by a virtual visit. The ER is open 24/7.

The OCH Facebook message ended with:

“Every Ohio County resident has a social responsibility to help curb community spread of COVID-19. Infected persons, with no symptoms, can still spread the disease. The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay home. Minimize contact unless going to essential workplaces, grocery stores, pharmacies or seeking medical care. When out, please strictly follow the 6 Foot distancing directives and if possible – wear face protection such as a cloth mask.

Wash your hands. Avoid large crowds. Be a good neighbor by practicing #HealthyatHome habits.”
