LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Ohio County. The Wind Advisory will go into effect at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2020, and expire at 11 p.m. Saturday night, Jan. 11, 2020.

Gusty southerly winds will ramp up late tonight ahead of a cold front. The winds will arrive in a couple of waves, the first occurring Saturday morning and then another Saturday afternoon and evening. During these periods, expect sustained southerly winds to range from 20-30 mph with gusts of 40-50 mph.

In addition to the gusty winds, a line of heavy showers, along with a few thunderstorms, will move through the Ohio Valley, producing briefly torrential rainfall that could lead to localized flash flooding.

Unsecured objects could blow around and expect difficult travel on east/west roads.

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of over 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
