OWENSBORO, Ky. — Bennie Ray Davisson, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
Born March 13, 1936, in Ohio County, Kentucky, Mr. Davisson was the son of the late Robert and Augusta Hobbs Davisson; was retired from Southern Tank and Petroleum where he worked more than 40 years, and was a member of Masonville United Methodist Church.
He was a 1954 graduate of Daviess County High School and was an Army veteran. He loved nature; was a great artist; loved to travel, and was fond of driving and collecting sports cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Willard “Bill” Davisson and Douglas Davisson; and a sister, Mary Ann Davisson.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Julia Carter Davisson; a son; Eric (Susan) Davisson, of Cynthiana, Kentucky; a daughter, Andrea (Brian Payne) Johnson, of Owensboro; and grandsons, Alec and Adam Davisson.
Services are 12 p.m. Monday, June 17, in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service.
