FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Dolly Ruth Crowe, 83, was called home on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at her home in Fordsville. She was born April 12, 1935, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, to the late Arthur Lee Cooper Sr. and Mamie Blair Cooper.
She enjoyed watching some of her favorite preachers and gospel music singers, as well as classic country music and The Good Doctor. She enjoyed telling stories of her childhood, working in her flowers, sewing and going on long drives through the country.
Ruth was preceded also in death by her husband of 60 years, Lenard Payton Crowe; her daughter, Tawana Faye Baird; grandson, Jonathan Payton Priest; brothers, Arthur Lee Cooper Jr., William Wesley Cooper; and sisters, Betty Jean Cooper and Sally Jane Cooper.
Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa (Steve) Priest; grandchildren, Talietha McKinley, Brandy Fuqua and Daniel Priest; great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, C.J., and Laura McKinley; and great-great-grandchildren, Payton Gray and Tristan Flinn, all of Fordsville.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation is 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
