OWENSBORO, Ky. — Wrapped in God’s love, Curtis Duane Bowlin, 57, of Owensboro entered into Heaven’s Kingdom on July 1, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 16, 1960, in Monticello, Illinois, to Duane Bowlin and now reunited with his mother, Phyllis Snodgrass.

He retired from the Daviess County Public School System (Apollo High School) and was a member of Old Panther Creek Baptist Church in Whitesville.
Curt enjoyed music, camping, fishing, NASCAR and UK basketball. He loved to aggravate and joke with his friends and family and always looked forward to the family vacations at the lakes.

He was a loving husband of 41 years to his wife, Karen Ward Bowlin; loving father to his son, Robert (Krystal) Bowlin, of Whitesville, Kentucky; and his Daddy’s girl, Christy Sanders, of Owensboro; Papaw to five grandchildren, MaCaela Sanders (JT) and Ethan Bowlin, of Owensboro, Isaac, Gavin, and one angel baby, of Whitesville; two great granddaughters, Delilah Shane, and arriving soon, Laylea Nell; his brothers, Steve Bowlin, of Monticello, Jim (Cristin) Bowlin, of Ft. Myers, Florida, JT Brown, of Colorado, (step) Tom Montgomery, of Champaign, Illinois; and sisters, Teresa Johnson (Jamie), of Hartford, Kentucky, (step) Michelle Burdine, of Indiana; his stepmom, Evelyn Bowlin; his Uncle Dick and Aunt Dorma, of Monticello. Curt was blessed with several nieces and nephews and so many extended family members.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville with burial following at Cates Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday July 5, and after 9 a.m. on Friday, July 6, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital to which Curt was an avid donor.
