BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Leonard D. Schroader, 84, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 25, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born June 10, 1934, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Ecklas Schroader and Myrtle White Schroader.

Mr. Schroader was a member of IBEW for 60 years and was employed by Davis H. Elliott Electrical and Shelly Electrical for 50 years. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Schroader enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and UK Basketball as well as hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Terry Lynn Schroader and Janet Sue Schroader; two brothers, Lilburn K. Schroader and William Schroader; and three sisters, Velma Clark, Dorothy Cantu, and Zelma Dean McIntyre.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Geary Schroader, of Beaver Dam; two sons, Ronnie (Vanessa) Schroader, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, and David (April) Schroader, of Hartford, Kentucky; one daughter, Judy Stillwell, of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Roger (Carol) Schroader, of Horse Branch, and Robert (Carol) Schroader, of Horse Branch; three sisters, Virginia Peters, of Jamestown, Kentucky, Pauline Finley, of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Joyce (Gerald) Lee, of Horse Branch; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mr. Schroader’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
